CYPRESS CREEK

This is one of my past favorite's, however, the water in the lake has been gone from this area for about 2 years now, but it's really great to stop at in the morning on the way to work, and just listen... the bobwhite quail, and turkey, and other critters trying to make a living.
Many times in the past, I have launched our boat here, where the orange barrels are sitting now, that's how much water is missing now days from the lake. it stands today at 625.32, I think that's the lowest I can remember it ever being, and my dad used to launch our boat here when I was a kid, and the road to the park was dirt.
We used to camp right here, and swim, fish, right behind the picnic table in the foreground.
The full level of the lake is 711. about 85 feet low......
Notice the boat docks sitting on dry ground.
Toooooo many people, uses toooooo much water, and this is the result.

Thanks for checking in.

  1. Bet it was a beautiful lake. All Texas lakes are down.

In my case Amistad Lake is down because of the drought and the International Water commission releasing water to help Falcon Lake.

    1. MsB, the drought has something to do with it here as well, but there are just too many people moving here from all over the country.

  2. Yes Stephen, it is a shame, people are moving to Austin area at a very high rate, and they are not doing due diligence on water planning.
