I mentioned in an earlier post, that we had a dog at the vet. This is she, Pinky.
Patti went to our vet about a year ago for some meds for the other dogs, and as luck would have it, as she walked in, another lady was walking out, and had just surrendered her to have her put to sleep, because she could not afford her anymore. Well.......... when Patti heard that, she called me and said she was bringing a new dog home, right now. Pinky is an 8 year old Chihuahua mix, and just as sweet as she can be, I can't believe someone would give her up. Anyway, she went from her playful self to quadriplegic in about 15 minutes the other night, we thought stroke at first, but it turns out it was a neck vertebra that had gone bad on her, paralyzing her. That required a specialist in that field, and you can see where they shaved her, and went in through her throat area to operate. She is on the road to recovery now, thanks to a really good doctor, and $3500.00, yes.... if Mama ain't happy, ain't no body happy, we have to keep her very still and in her carrier for 2 weeks, then 4 more weeks to recover they say.
I am a very blessed man, and knowing that, we did what we had to, to save her life, although it wasn't cheap.
Thanks for checking in, I'll try to get back soon, I'm baby sitting Pinky, while Patti is out today.
