CITY COUNCIL MEETING TONIGHT

Yes, this photo tells you how I feel about the city denying ALL claims made against it for the sewer backup last month.
Turns out, that the city has immunity from tort claims, except in the case of death or physical harm.
So, when the city secretary called me with the news yesterday, I fired off an e-mail to the City Manager, and cc'd the Mayor, and all city council members, informing them of how pitifully sorry I thought their claim of no responsibility was.
So at any rate, I'm going to the council meeting tonight to plead for relief, don't expect to get any, but they'll all know my name when we leave anyway.
Have been thinking of trying to locate and involve all damaged parties in this debacle, and OCCUPY the next council meeting if this does not work. Reportedly about 80 homes were involved.

  1. Thanks.
At the very least they should reduce your rates for a few years to make up for the problem.

  2. They say there is unity in numbers and if you and the other homeowners get together maybe something can be done to rectify this situation.

    Best of luck.

  4. B, I had a discussion with the city manager yesterday, not encouraging. He knows he has immunity, and I think, he will stand on it, even though he said he is still looking at the claim.
    Thanks for checking in.
