Photo's from the road following in hunters on the first day of season.
Saturday morning these morons had a huge fire almost get away from them. Burn ban in effect, but they didn't care. Their camp was across the canyon about 4 miles away I think.
Hope you had a good week, will check in as soon as I can again. Thanks for stopping by.

Glad you had a chance to go to your ranch. Where was the sheriff to enforce the burn ban?
ReplyDeleteMsB you know how distance is out there, it would have taken at least an hour to get there, if they could get to the place at all with a brush truck, I almost called the fire department, but it looked like they were getting it under control, so I watched for about an hour to make sure it went out.

Part of me just felt the urge to fire up an old tanker and drop a load of slurry on them ("just being neighborly".
ReplyDeleteThanks for the photos. I took in some deer liver pate to work and it was gone in a milisecond, the rest of the deer that wasn't put in the freezer went in the smoker.
B:thanks for checking in, I came within one push of a button calling the fire department, it doesn't take long to get away from you and turn in to a many thousand acre fire. If I could have called in a slurry strike, I would have!
ReplyDeleteCan you send me your e-mail address? I wonder if my Uncle might have served with your Dad? I have his notes of all his missions, and would like to send them to you.
