Just ran across this old photo of my grandparents, in the 'courting' phase of their young life about 1916.
My grandmother lived on the north shore of the Colorado River, near a settlement known as Smithwick, Tx, and my Gradfather, of course, lived across the river, and had to ferry across to visit her. They were married in a buggy in Marble Falls Tx in 1918. Things were sure a lot more simple during those times, and even when I was a kid. I still have the first refrigerator they ever had, purchased during WWII, in my garage, and yes, it still works, even though I had to replace the seal on the door, I don't think it's ever been worked on.
I sure miss the old days.
